"The workshop was incredibly helpful. I have been working on incorporating more of a meditation/visualization into my day and I notice a big difference, especially in my experience of this pregnancy and surrendering my fears completely. Thank you for the workshop and support" ~ Carmen
Postpartum Doula Service
One of the most vulnerable times in our lives is when we bring a new baby in to our family. For many reasons, it is very important to bring yourself in to balance for yourself, your new baby and your family. My goal, as always, is to help people stay centred and give support and tools to continue on their own beyond our time together.
What is a Doula?
What is a Postpartum Doula?
A postpartum doula is the professional, educated servant of the infant's main caregiver (in many cases that is the mother but please know this is not always the case). The service is usually for the first 3 months (the 4th Trimester) and is usually fulltime 3-5hrs/day x 3-5days/week and can decrease in days to help ease mothers in to “trying some time on their own”. I share only current scientific evidence-based research on babies, parents and the postpartum period is shared - not advice.
“What does a postpartum doula do?
A postpartum doula helps the parents learn to care for and bond with their newborn, by guiding them through the practicalities of newborn care. The teaching that a doula does usually builds the confidence of the parents, allowing them to care for their newborn independently, very quickly. Many postpartum doulas have experience with multiples, premature babies and “fussy” babies. If the family is settled and the postpartum doula still has time she may help with household tasks such as laundry, food prep, light cleaning and childcare to allow the parents time to rest and relax. A postpartum doula can also help with breastfeeding, community resources and informational support for family decisions. The main focus of postpartum doula care is helping the parents integrate the baby into the family.”

I am a member of Doula Services Association and DONA International trained to support mothers, babies and their families during this tender time. A Postpartum Doula is specifically for after the baby is home. We use adhere to a strong rules of ethics and have current scientific research knowledge and resources around postpartum care.
I am passionate and an expert in Ayurvedic postpartum care which can bring more calming tools for mama and baby. I also offer many other relaxing and healing services such as reiki and guided meditations.
Cooking is also a passion and skill that I have and would greatly use as part of my service. I have studied specific Ayurvedic Postpartum support which has been used for over 5000years in India cultures to nurture the mother during the 4th trimester.
Feel free to message me for more information or availability.
